Laughter will Refresh You

Do you ever see funny signs? Well here’s one that I stumbled upon.

Last year it was breathtaking and refreshing to walk through the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in the Fall when the leaves were at their peak and the air was cool and crisp. But I had to laugh when I walked by a speed limit sign with a 17 ½ on it. I had never seen 17 ½ miles per hour and it made me wonder. If you go 18 mph, will you get a speeding ticket? Isn’t it more dangerous watching your speedometer hit 17 ½ than say, driving 20 mph? Did someone at the DOT make a mistake? Why not 17 mph or 18 mph versus 17 ½ mph? How funny is that? 17 ½ MPH! It just made me laugh.

As you go through life, take time to look for things that are funny. Even Dr. Seuss said, “From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere!” If you really want to be refreshed, make sure you laugh today.
